The Green Climate Fund (GCF)
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a new global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change. GCF helps developing countries limit or reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change.
Workshop aiming to enhance the Republic of Moldova`s adaptation to climate change
The capture and the sustainable use of rainwater through the rehabilitation of existing lakes/ ponds and the construction of others was the main topic discussed during a workshop held in Chisinau.

On 15th of December, 2018, the government communicators of line ministers (member of Government Communicators` Council) , managing the areas affected by climate change, met at a workshop organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment with the support of the Climate Change Office.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, through its National Consultants, produced the Operational Manual of the National Designated Authority and the Country Program regarding the Republic of Moldova's engagement with the Green Climate Fund and the drafts of these documents were submitted to stakeholder consultations, in a Workshop, on 13.12.2018.

Republic of Moldova`s Country Programme for the engagement with GCF

At the Paris Conference in 2015, the Republic of Moldova put forward its "Intended Nationally Determined Contribution" (INDC) with a commitment to reduce, by 2030, the net greenhouse gas emissions by 64-78% relative to 1990 levels. The document also sets the objectives for adaptation to climate change. The country puts efforts to attaint ambitious goals, at the same time seeking external support in the form of financial resources, technology transfer, and technical assistance.
Operational aspects regarding the activity of the National Designated Authority of the Republic of Moldova in relation to the Green Climate Fund and the Accredited Entities

The Operational Manual describes the procedures governing the commitments of GCF National Designated Authority of Moldova in the context of country’s engagement with Green Climate Fund. It will guide and provide support to Accredited Entities (EAs) and potential beneficiaries operating on Moldova’s territory on the national level coordination process during the access of Fund’s financial resources.

Fondul Verde pentru Climă (FVC) este cel mai mare fond internațional care sprijină țările în curs de dezvoltare să limiteze sau să reducă emisiile de gaze cu efect de seră și să se adapteze impactul schimbărilor climatice prin finanțarea proiectelor înaintate de Entități Acreditate. Pentru a accesa finanțarea, aceste instituții/ entități trec printr-un proces de ”acreditare”, destinat să evalueze capacitățile de gestiune financiară și de protejare a proiectelor și programelor finanțate împotriva oricăror efecte neprevăzute de mediu și/sau sociale.
